Colombia Striker Suffers Torn ACL-IN DOUBT For The World Cup

Colombia striker Radamel Falcao tore his ACL last week playing for Monaco FC in the French Ligue 1, putting his World Cup status in serious doubt.  Doctor's recently gave him a "50-50" chance of playing in the summer tournament, but having to recover from a torn ACL, even if he is cleared to play, it would be a huge stretch to expect Falcao to be the same player he has been.  For Monaco, he had 9 goals in 8 games in the Ligue 1 before injury, and for Colombia in 13 World Cup qualifiers he scored 9 goals. Colombia were considered a threat in this tournament, but with Falcao suffering such a serious injury, the team looks to have taken a huge blow. Jackson Martinez of FC Porto and James Rodriguez, a teammate of Falcao's at Monaco, will have to elevate their play to make up for Falcao's absence. The two are top class forwards, but they still are not of the caliber of Falcao. Updates to come on this story....
